Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aras was born in Payas, Hatay, where he completed his primary, secondary, and high school education. He began studying at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 1987, graduating with third place in 1994. After graduation, he completed his mandatory service as a general practitioner under the Ministry of Justice between 1994 and 1996. In 1996, he started his specialization in the Department of Neurosurgery at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine, becoming a Neurosurgery Specialist in 2002.

From 2003 to 2009, Dr. Aras served as the Chief Physician at Hatay-Dörtyol State Hospital. In 2009, he was appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurosurgery at Mustafa Kemal University Tayfur Ata Sökmen Faculty of Medicine. Between 2012 and 2019, he was the Director of İskenderun Vocational School and a Senate Member at MKU. He became an Associate Professor in 2015. In September 2019, he joined the Department of Brain and Nerve Surgery at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine, achieving the title of Professor in 2022.

Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aras has published 49 articles in national and international journals and presented 112 papers at national and international conferences. He has authored six book chapters, supervised three specialization theses, and completed two research projects. He is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Society (TNDer), the TNDer Spinal and Peripheral Nerve Surgery Teaching and Training Group (SPSCG), and the TNDer Neuro-Oncological Surgery Teaching and Training Group (TURNOG), where he served as a Board Member from 2022 to 2024.

Born in Ankara in 1981, Emine Şendurur completed her entire education in Ankara. While pursuing her undergraduate studies in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) at Middle East Technical University (METU), she also completed a minor in the Department of Psychology, graduating in 2005. After graduation, she briefly worked as a Ministry of National Education teacher. She completed her integrated PhD in METU's CEIT department between 2005 and 2012, receiving a TÜBİTAK (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye) domestic PhD scholarship during her studies. During the same period, she worked as a research assistant at METU and spent one year as a visiting researcher at Purdue University in the United States. Since 2013, she has been a faculty member at Ondokuz Mayıs University, achieving the title of Associate Professor in 2019.

She has held various academic and administrative roles, including Department and Division Chair, Quality Commission Member, Erasmus+ Coordinator, Faculty Administrative Board Member, and Member of the Scientific Committee of the BAP (Scientific Research Projects). She has collaborated on various national and international projects, including projects she led within TÜBİTAK and BAP. She has supervised 18 completed graduate theses and oversees ongoing thesis projects. Her academic work includes research articles published in SSCI, field-indexed, and other indexed journals, books, book chapters, and numerous presentations at scientific conferences.

Doç. Dr. Begüm KORUNUR ENGİZ

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Begüm Korunur Engiz was born in İskenderun, Hatay. She completed her secondary education at Çorum Atatürk High School. She graduated from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ondokuz Mayıs University in 2001 and obtained her master's degree (2007) and PhD (2014) from the same department.

From 2006 to 2011, she served as a research assistant in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ondokuz Mayıs University. Between 2016 and 2024, she worked as an assistant professor in the Division of Telecommunications. Since 2025, she has been serving as an associate professor in the same division.

Following her undergraduate graduation, she received language education in Cambridge, United Kingdom, in 2002. She conducted postdoctoral research on next-generation wireless communication systems at Brno University of Technology in the Czech Republic in 2019; at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom in 2022, supported by the TÜBİTAK 2219 International Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program; and at Ulster University in 2025.

At Ondokuz Mayıs University, she has served as Vice Chair of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, a member of the Faculty of Engineering Quality Commission, and as University Coordinator for the "Sector on Campus" Program run by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. She has acted as coordinator for three priority area projects supported by the university's BAP (Scientific Research Projects) program. She has mentored numerous student teams in TEKNOFEST and TÜBİTAK projects and has supervised one doctoral and four master’s theses in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Begüm Korunur Engiz has published 19 articles in journals indexed by SCI/SCIE and 18 additional articles in other national and international journals. She has presented 40 papers at national and international scientific conferences. She is fluent in English, married, and the mother of two children.
