Dr. Alper Kesten graduated from the Department of History at Hacettepe University in 1994. Between 1994 and 2000, he worked as a primary and secondary school teacher in various schools in Kastamonu. In 2000, under the provisions of Law No. 1416 and with a Higher Education Scholarship awarded by the Ministry of National Education, Dr. Alper Kesten went to the United States, where he completed his master’s and doctoral studies at Penn State University. In 2006, he returned to Türkiye to fulfill his mandatory service at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Education, where he began his academic career and continues to serve today.

After starting his position at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Dr. Alper Kesten conducted research at Ferris State University in the United States in 2012 as part of a research scholarship from YÖK (Council of Higher Education). In 2015, he conducted further research at the University of Minnesota, United States, through a Turkish Fulbright Postdoctoral Research Scholarship. Dr. Alper Kesten has been involved in various TÜBİTAK and EU projects in the field of Social Studies Education and has published numerous research articles in different indexed journals.

Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz was born in Ordu on 1978. He completed his primary and secondary education at Saraycık Primary School and his high school education at Ordu High School. He graduated with honors from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ondokuz Mayıs University in 1999 and completed his master's and doctoral studies in the same department in 2002 and 2009, respectively.

From 2000 to 2009, Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz worked as a Research Assistant at Ondokuz Mayıs University in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, specializing in Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Techniques. Between 2011 and 2019, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Telecommunications, and from 2019 to 2024, he worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Techniques. Since 2018, he has chaired this department, and in 2024, he was promoted to full professor.

In 2013, Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz conducted postdoctoral research at Durham University in the UK, supported by a YÖK (Council of Higher Education) scholarship. From 2015 to 2022, he served as Vice Chair of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and from 2020 to 2023, he was a member of the Faculty Administrative Board and Faculty Board of the Faculty of Engineering. Between 2022 and 2024, he also served as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and as a Board Member of OMU TTO (Technology Transfer Office). During the same period, he acted as Assistant Regional Coordinator for TÜBİTAK Project Competitions in the Samsun Region. He actively contributed to the Accreditation Mentor Program at Ondokuz Mayıs University. He served on several subcommittees within the Faculty of Engineering, including those focused on Quality, Education, and Social Contributions.

As the advisor of the TANYELİ Rocket Team, Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz led them to several prestigious awards: first place in the 2020 TEKNOFEST Low-Altitude Rocket Competition, first place in the 2021 TEKNOFEST Medium-Altitude Rocket Competition, and the ROKETSAN Most Innovative Rocket Design Award. In 2022, the team achieved third place in the TEKNOFEST TÜBİTAK SAGE Vertical Landing Rocket Competition. He is also a co-founder of PIES AR-GE İNOVASYON AŞ, a research and development company based in Samsun TEKNOPARK.

Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz has been the principal coordinator for 12 R&D and product development projects supported by private sector companies, public institutions, and universities, and as a researcher on one R&D project. He has supervised three PhD dissertations and 13 master's theses in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has published 20 research articles in SCI and SCI-Expanded indexed journals and 27 in other indexed journals. He has also presented 60 papers at international scientific conferences, 35 of which were delivered as oral presentations.

Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer was born in 1970 in Konya. She enrolled in Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 1987 and graduated in 1992. Between 1992 and 1998, she completed her doctorate in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Selçuk University Faculty of Dentistry. She joined the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Dentistry as an Assistant Professor in 2003, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2008, and attained the rank of Professor in 2014.

Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer has published 43 articles in national and international journals and presented over 30 papers at national and international conferences.

Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer is married and has one child.
