From the Cradle of History to the Future: TEKNOFEST Southeast Comes to Şanlıurfa

OMU will once again participate as a partner university in TEKNOFEST, which will bring technology competitions, air shows, exhibitions, workshops, and science activities to Şanlıurfa from September 30 to October 4.

TEKNOFEST, one of the world’s largest aviation, space, and technology festivals, will be held in Şanlıurfa in 2026, bringing science and technology to a city renowned for its thousands of years of history and rich cultural heritage.

Taking place at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport from September 30 to October 4, TEKNOFEST Southeast will bring together millions of visitors at a destination often described as one of the places where human history began.

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) will once again take part in the festival as a partner university, continuing its strong involvement in TEKNOFEST activities.

Organized under the leadership of the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye, with the support of leading technology companies, public institutions, media organizations, and universities, TEKNOFEST will feature technology competitions in 61 main categories and 143 subcategories.

Teams advancing beyond the preliminary stages of the competitions will benefit from more than TRY 100 million in financial support, while teams achieving top rankings will receive more than TRY 75 million in total prizes.

Since 2018, TEKNOFEST has been held 14 times, bringing together millions of people of all ages around a shared enthusiasm for technology, innovation, and the future. Participation in the festival is free of charge.

In 2026, TEKNOFEST Southeast will carry the dreams of young people from the cradle of history toward the technologies of the future.

A City of History Brings the Past and Future Together

In Şanlıurfa, a city bearing the traces of ancient civilizations, science and technology will bring the past and future together in a unique setting.

Over five days, TEKNOFEST Southeast will offer a wide range of experiences for visitors of all ages, from families and young people to technology enthusiasts.

The festival program will include air shows, concerts and stage performances, exhibitions, educational workshops, simulation experience areas, science shows, displays of domestically developed land and air vehicles, and fair activities.

With a cultural heritage extending from Göbeklitepe to Harran, Şanlıurfa will combine its millennia-old legacy with the technologies of the future, offering new sources of inspiration for young people.
