OMU's Vezirköprü Vocational School Strengthens Industry Partnerships to Expand Student Training and Employment Opportunities

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Vezirköprü Vocational School has signed a series of cooperation agreements with the Vezirköprü District Directorate of National Education, the Vezirköprü Forest Enterprise Directorate, and Vezirköprü Forest Products and Paper Industry Inc. (Vezirağaç) to strengthen collaboration in education, internships, practical training, and graduate employment.

The signing ceremony was held in the meeting hall of Vezirköprü Vocational School and was attended by OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, Vezirköprü District Director of National Education Resul Özata, Vezirköprü Forest Enterprise Director Mecit Koçak, Vezirağaç Human Resources Manager Berker Duygulu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afitap Özdelikara, Director of Vezirköprü Vocational School, along with academic and administrative staff and members of the local press.

Enhancing Students' Professional Skills Through Practical Experience

The agreements are designed to enable students to complete their compulsory in-semester practical training and summer internships in real workplace environments while promoting institutional collaboration in applied courses.

The initiative aims to help students strengthen their professional knowledge and practical skills, apply theoretical learning in real-world settings, and gain first-hand experience of working life before graduation.

Employment Opportunities for Graduates

Under the agreement signed with Vezirköprü Forest Products and Paper Industry Inc. (Vezirağaç), the parties also agreed to cooperate in recruiting graduates within designated employment quotas.

The partnership is expected to expand internship and hands-on training opportunities, strengthen students' connections with industry, and improve employment prospects after graduation.

Commitment to Regional Collaboration

The ceremony concluded with the signing of the agreements, the exchange of good wishes among the participants, and a commemorative group photograph.

Following the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afitap Özdelikara, Director of Vezirköprü Vocational School, expressed appreciation to all stakeholders who contributed to the initiative.
