Vezirköprü Vocational School Celebrates Graduation of 200 Students
Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Vezirköprü Vocational School celebrated the graduation of 200 students from the 2025–2026 academic year with a joyful ceremony.
The graduation ceremony, held at Vezirköprü Vocational School, was attended by OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, Vezirköprü District Governor Özgür Kaya, Vezirköprü Garrison Commander Burak Can Tekin, Deputy Mayor İbrahim Işık, District Police Chief Ahmet Çelik, Acting District Gendarmerie Commander Lieutenant Seyfettin Turğut, Director of Vezirköprü Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afitap Özdelikara, Director of Ladik Vocational School Prof. Dr. Hanife Nalan Genç, as well as academics, graduating students, and their families.
Director Özdelikara: “True Success Is Using Your Knowledge and Skills for the Benefit of Humanity”
Delivering the opening speech, Director of Vezirköprü Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afitap Özdelikara highlighted that the school trains qualified professionals in a wide range of fields, including Computer Technologies, Child Development and Youth Services, Design, Forestry, Accounting, and Taxation.
Thanking the academic and administrative staff as well as the families who supported the students throughout their educational journey, Özdelikara addressed the graduates by saying:
“True success lies in using the knowledge and skills you possess for the benefit of humanity.”
She also invited graduates to join the university’s Alumni Coordination Office and remain connected with their alma mater.
District Governor Kaya: “Their Graduation Marks the Beginning of a New Journey, and the End of My Own Here”
Vezirköprü District Governor Özgür Kaya stated that, following a presidential decree, he had been appointed as District Governor of Ahlat and that the ceremony also represented a farewell for him.
Kaya noted that throughout his tenure, local institutions, including the municipality and the press, had worked together to support the vocational school. Thanking both students and families, he expressed his hope that the graduates would enjoy the memorable moment of tossing their caps in celebration.
Valedictorian Şahin: “We Learned the Value of Love, Patience, and Hard Work”
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Child Development student Hasret Şahin expressed her happiness at having the opportunity to address the audience and thanked her instructors and family for their support.
Şahin stated:
“The diplomas we receive today are not only the result of our education but also symbols of our patience, hard work, and dreams.”
Graduation Ceremony Concludes with Cap Toss
Following the speeches, certificates of achievement were presented to the graduates. The professional oath was recited by Dr. Gonca Özdemir Tarı.
The ceremony concluded with students enthusiastically tossing their graduation caps into the air.
