Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School sent 150 students into their professional lives with its 2025–2026 Academic Year Graduation Ceremony.

The ceremony, held at Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School, was attended by OMU Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar, Director of Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demir, academic and administrative staff, graduating students, and their families.

Secretary General Pancar: “Use Your Knowledge in a Way That Adds Value to Production and Society”

Speaking at the ceremony, OMU Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar stated that graduation is not only the completion of an educational process, but also the beginning of new responsibilities.

“The diploma you receive today is a reflection of the effort, determination, and perseverance you have shown over the past two years. The knowledge, skills, and values you have gained at our university will guide you throughout your professional lives. Our country needs well-equipped, productive, and responsible young people like you. I sincerely believe that, while practicing your profession, you will remain committed to ethical values and take science and technology as your guide. I congratulate your families and the academics who have contributed to your education, and I wish you all a future filled with health, happiness, and success,” he said.

Director Demir: “Graduation Is Not an End, but a New Beginning”

Director of Yeşilyurt Demir Çelik Vocational School Prof. Dr. Gökhan Demir emphasized that graduation marks the first step toward new beginnings.

“In a world where everything is changing at great speed, the most important competence you need is learning how to learn and being able to use knowledge. You must succeed not only for yourselves and your families, but also for our country and humanity. For us, the greatest reward we can receive is your success and happiness. Never cut your ties with your school,” he stated.

Valedictorian Gürer: “We Are Being Sent Off from Here Toward New Beginnings”

Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Abdulbaki Gürer, valedictorian of the Mechatronics Program, stated that the two-year educational process had been filled with important gains for them.

“Today, we are saying goodbye to a great family. The knowledge, friendships, and experiences we have gained here will guide us throughout our lives. We will never forget the efforts of our instructors and the sacrifices of our families. Graduation is not an ending for us, but an important step that opens the door to new beginnings,” he said.

Following the speeches, certificates of achievement and gifts were presented to the top-ranking students by protocol members. The graduates then received their diplomas.

The graduation ceremony concluded with students joyfully tossing their caps into the air.
