Graduates Bid Farewell to Ladik Vocational School

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) bid farewell to the graduates of Ladik Vocational School at a ceremony held for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The graduation ceremony, held at Ladik Vocational School, was attended by OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, Mayor of Ladik Adnan Topal, Ladik Gendarmerie Senior Master Sergeant Şuayip Demir, Ladik District Police Chief Ali Vedat Keleş, Ladik District Director of National Education Erdal Aksoy, Ladik District Director of Agriculture and Forestry Murat Kabadayı, Director of the Ladik Nursing Home Mehmet Öksüz, Director of Ladik Vocational School Prof. Dr. Hanife Nalan Genç, Director of Vezirköprü Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. Afitap Özdelikara, Director of Havza Vocational School Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ercan Tural, as well as academics, graduating students, and their families.

Director Genç: “We Are Sending You Off as Honest, Confident Individuals Ready to Face Life”

In her opening remarks, Director of Ladik Vocational School Prof. Dr. Hanife Nalan Genç expressed her pride and happiness in celebrating the graduation ceremony and told the graduates:

“Today, you are opening a new chapter in your lives.”

She stated that the school had done its utmost to prepare students for both professional and social life and expressed confidence that the graduates would represent their school with distinction wherever they go.

Concluding her speech, Genç said:

“As we graduate you today, we are not only awarding diplomas; we are sending you off as individuals who stand strong in the face of life, guided by honesty and self-confidence.”

Valedictorian Polat: “We Built Friendships That Will Last a Lifetime”

Speaking on behalf of the graduates as the top-ranking student of the school, Hasibe Polat from the Department of Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Leather, began her speech by saying:

“Today, we have gathered to celebrate one of the most important milestones of our lives.”

Polat noted that throughout their education they had gained valuable knowledge and formed friendships that would last a lifetime. She thanked their instructors for their guidance and their families for their unwavering support.

She concluded her speech by wishing all graduates success and a bright future ahead.

Project Exhibition Showcases Student Work

Following the speeches, diplomas were presented to the graduates.

After the ceremony, OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten and Ladik Mayor Adnan Topal visited an exhibition featuring student projects and received information about the works on display.

The ceremony concluded with graduates enthusiastically tossing their caps into the air.
