OMU signs academic cooperation agreement with Iraq’s Madenat Al-Elem University College

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and Madenat Al-Elem University College have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening academic, scientific, and cultural collaboration between the two institutions.

The agreement was signed on behalf of OMU by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer and on behalf of Madenat Al-Elem University College by Prof. Dr. Intisar Abul Ghani Abbas. The protocol is designed to enhance international academic relations and foster closer cooperation between the two higher education institutions.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer was accompanied at the signing ceremony by Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Begüm Korunur Engiz and Head of the International Relations Office Dr. Ahmet Aycan.

Expanding academic and scientific cooperation

Under the agreement, the two universities will work together to promote joint scientific research, strengthen cooperation in education and training, and increase cultural interaction. The protocol also encourages academic engagement among faculty members, researchers, and students, while facilitating the exchange of research outcomes and the sharing of experiences gained through scientific events and academic activities.

Student and academic mobility to be encouraged

The agreement provides for reciprocal visits by faculty members, lecturers, researchers, and other academic staff. Joint research projects, knowledge and expertise sharing, and collaborative educational activities have been identified among the priority areas of cooperation.

In addition, both institutions will work to create opportunities for students to benefit from academic exchange programs and participate in collaborative initiatives that promote scientific understanding and international engagement.

Through this partnership, OMU aims to further advance its internationalization strategy by increasing academic mobility, expanding collaborative research activities, and strengthening sustainable scientific relations between the two institutions.
