OMU joins global higher education leaders at NAFSA 2026 in Orlando
ORLANDO – Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) is taking its place at the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo, one of the world’s largest global gatherings for higher education. Held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, and continuing through 29 May, the event marks the beginning of OMU’s international engagement activities within the framework of its internationalization vision.
Türkiye’s educational potential showcased at the “Study in Türkiye” pavilion
Bringing together thousands of higher education representatives from around the world, the event provides OMU with the opportunity to meet international students and academics at the “Study in Türkiye” pavilion, coordinated by the Turkish National Agency.
Throughout the fair, OMU is showcasing its academic opportunities, research capacity, and vibrant campus life to a global audience.
Intensive networking by the OMU delegation
Representing Ondokuz Mayıs University at the event, the delegation led by Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın has launched an intensive schedule of meetings from the very first day of the conference.
The delegation also includes Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Begüm Korunur Engiz, Head of the International Relations Office Dr. Ahmet Aycan, and Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tütüncü, all working to establish new partnership opportunities with universities from different regions of the world.
Held under the theme “Global by Design,” NAFSA 2026 provides OMU with a strategic platform to pursue new student and faculty exchange agreements, international joint research projects, dual degree programs, and long-term educational partnerships.
The OMU delegation will also closely follow global education trends discussed throughout the conference, including innovation, creativity, and sustainable education strategies, while gathering valuable insights that will contribute to the university’s continued development in line with international standards.
