Traditional Spring Festival brings color and energy to OMU campus
Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) is once again hosting the Traditional Spring Festival, which brings students together with events full of culture, art, sports, and music, with strong participation this year.
At the two-day festival, which began at the Life Center on the Kurupelit Campus, students brought the energy of social life to the campus before final exams and had the opportunity to fully enjoy spring's enthusiasm.
The festival area was visited by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, and Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar, faculty deans, academics, administrative staff, and many students. Afterwards, OMU senior management toured the stands set up within the scope of the event, closely examined the activities carried out by student communities, and talked with students.
Student communities and art activities attracted interest
On the first day of the Spring Festival, student communities within the university carried out promotional and informational activities at the stands they set up at the OMU Life Center. Throughout the day, as events continued, students had the opportunity to interact socially and become closely acquainted with the work of different communities.
In the festival program, wall painting, clay experience workshop, glass bead-making, and festival makeup practices, carried out by the Faculty of Fine Arts, attracted great interest from participants. In addition, the performances presented by the OMU Folk Dance Team, which holds the title of Türkiye Champion, were highly appreciated by the audience.
The events, which will continue later in the day with dance and DJ performances, will feature great enthusiasm, including a concert by artist Demet Akalın.
The festival will continue with second-day events
On the second day of the OMU Spring Festival, stage performances by amateur music groups, young artists, the Civilizations Choir, and artists from the OMU State Conservatory will meet with students. At the closing of the festival, the OMU Modern Music Community will take the stage. In addition, badminton and digital shooting activities organized by the Yaşar Doğu Faculty of Sports Sciences will add sporting dynamism to the festival.
The events organized within the scope of the festival, which aims to increase students’ social motivation before final exams, created colorful and lively scenes on campus.
