An invention developed by researchers at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has been granted a patent by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office.

The invention, titled “Lens Adapter Compatible with Digital SLR Cameras for Stereomicroscopes,” was developed by Prof. Dr. Burcu Onuk, Research Assistant Eyüp Koçak, Research Assistant Semih Kurt, Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Türker, Dr. Sedef Selviler Sizer, and Prof. Dr. Murat Kabak. It received patent registration under application number 2024/021082.

The apparatus enables high-magnification, high-resolution images to be captured through a stereomicroscope using a digital single-lens reflex camera. Its innovative design provides precise optical transmission between the stereomicroscope and the digital SLR camera, thereby improving image quality.

The patented invention is expected to support the production of clearer and more detailed images, particularly in scientific research, microscopic imaging studies, and academic laboratory applications.

The patent reflects the researchers’ contribution to scientific innovation and the development of practical technologies for advanced imaging. It also supports OMU’s efforts to protect the intellectual property rights arising from academic research.

OMU congratulates Prof. Dr. Burcu Onuk, Research Assistant Eyüp Koçak, Research Assistant Semih Kurt, Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Türker, Dr. Sedef Selviler Sizer, and Prof. Dr. Murat Kabak and wishes them continued success.
