As part of her official visit to Uzbekistan, Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın visited Tashkent State Medical University (TSMU). During the visit, topics such as academic cooperation, student exchange programs, and a joint summer school were discussed.
Rector Aydın visited Tashkent State Medical University, one of the leading specialized medical institutions in Uzbekistan and Central Asia. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for academic collaboration between the two universities.
Rector Aydın met with TSMU Vice Rector for International Relations, Dr. Jakhongir Israilov. The discussion covered areas such as student and faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, and other forms of scientific collaboration.
During the meeting, TSMU officials extended an invitation to OMU students to participate in the upcoming International Medical Summer School. This summer program is expected to serve as a significant step forward in the framework of expanding mutual cooperation between the two institutions.
Rector Aydın emphasized that a process of experience-sharing between the two universities has been initiated, particularly in clinical practices, including organ transplantation surgeries.
During the visit, Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın was also invited to join the Medical Council of the Tashkent International Medical Academy. This invitation is considered a significant development in terms of enhancing OMU’s international visibility and engagement in the global medical and health sciences community.
