A total of 238 students graduating from Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Çarşamba Commodity Exchange Vocational School in the 2025–2026 academic year were celebrated at a graduation ceremony marking the beginning of their professional journeys.

The ceremony, which began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, was attended by Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Begüm Korunur Engiz, Çarşamba Youth and Sports Director Turgay Ekşi, Director of Çarşamba Commodity Exchange Vocational School Prof. Dr. İsmail Aydemir, Chair of the Çarşamba Commodity Exchange Assembly Hacı Toraman, academics, administrative staff, graduates, and their families.

The program opened with a procession of graduates, creating an atmosphere of excitement and celebration.

Rector’s Advisor Engiz: “We prepare our students for the future through a quality-oriented educational approach”

Speaking at the ceremony, Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Begüm Korunur Engiz congratulated the graduates and their families, saying:

“With its programs aligned with regional needs and its strong academic staff, our vocational school educates students as highly skilled professionals equipped with practical competencies. Its position among the pioneering vocational schools in program accreditation is also a significant indicator of our quality-oriented educational approach. Dear graduates, your honesty, work ethic, and eagerness to learn will lead you to success. I am confident that you will represent our university in the best possible way wherever you go, and I wish you all success in your future careers.”

Director Aydemir: “We are a model vocational school with our practice-oriented education approach”

Director of Çarşamba Commodity Exchange Vocational School Prof. Dr. İsmail Aydemir highlighted the institution’s development and educational quality:

“Our vocational school began its educational journey in the 2002–2003 academic year with 240 students. Today, we provide education to nearly 1,600 students across six programs. Through our 3+1 workplace training model and accredited programs, we prepare our students for professional life in the best possible way. The diplomas you receive today are the result of your hard work, patience, and determination. I believe the knowledge and skills you have gained here will guide you throughout your lives.”

Aydemir also thanked the families of the graduates and expressed his appreciation to the academic and administrative staff who contributed to their education.

Valedictorian Başeğmez: “We are ready to contribute to our country’s development”

Speaking on behalf of the graduating class, valedictorian Yağız Başeğmez said:

“We are proud and happy to have successfully completed an educational journey that began two years ago with great dreams. We graduate today as a generation capable of using technology effectively, equipped with contemporary methods, and ready to contribute to production and development. I would like to thank our families for their unwavering support and our esteemed professors for sharing their knowledge and experience with us. The friendships we built and the experiences we gained here will remain with us throughout our lives.”

238 Graduates Toss Their Caps

Following the speeches, certificates of achievement and awards were presented to top-performing students by District Governor Mehmet Kamil Sağlam and protocol members.

Graduates from the Banking and Insurance, Computer Programming, Cybersecurity Technologies, Call Center Services, Accounting and Tax Applications, and Social Security programs were invited to the stage and applauded by the audience.

The ceremony concluded with graduates tossing their caps into the air in celebration.
