Under the project "This Youth Can Do Good Work" prepared by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), skilled personnel required in the industry are being trained.

Trainees who attend courses in laboratories opened within the scope of the project at OMU Faculty of Engineering will be employed in suitable sectors upon project completion.

Sixty trainees receiving education under the titles "Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing," "Industrial Automation and Maintenance," and "Renewable Energy" will become employed as qualified personnel after completing both theoretical and practical training.

The "Labor Market Support Program Operation for Young People Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET)" was prepared under the encouragement of OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal, the responsibility of Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Sevim Alışır, and the management of Faculty of Engineering lecturer Dr. Cenk Gezegin. This project aims to employ young graduates from vocational high schools, vocational colleges, or suitable university departments.

“I hope that all our friends participating in the project will be employed by the industry.”

Rector Ünal stated in a press release that the project is an initiative to enable young people who cannot find employment after receiving specific training to cling to life as qualified personnel.

Emphasizing the importance of the project in training personnel to meet the needs of the industry, Ünal said:

"This project is valuable to us because it provides strong support to the industry and enhances the industry's production power and investment, allowing us to look forward to the future with hope. It's a project that makes young people love their work by imparting quality skills, achieving good gains, and holding on to life with peace and hope for their future. It's open not only to OMU graduates but also to friends graduating from different universities. I hope that all our friends participating in the project will be eagerly employed by the industry. Because our friends are delighted, the young people participating will have mastered the areas the industry needs by the project's end."

“The aim of the project was to equip us technically with skills, and we believe we have acquired these skills”

Trainee Emre Kuzay expressed that they joined the project to gain technical knowledge for employment.

Kuzay mentioned that they received both theoretical and practical knowledge in laboratories, stating, "What we learned was not limited to theory; we also saw its practical application in the laboratory. The aim of the project was to equip us technically with skills, and we believe we have acquired these skills. At the end of the project, we will have on-the-job training and internships."

Survey engineer Hilal Kübra Çördükoğlu, who received training in the project, shared that the training sessions were rigorous and intensive.

Çördükoğlu highlighted the significant benefits of the project, saying, "The project greatly contributed to us. We could speak directly with our instructors and received one-on-one training. Internships will follow in the next phase, which is very important for employment. The project's provision of internship opportunities is very significant. Hopefully, we will grow into a good youth for Türkiye."
