In line with its vision for internationalization, Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) continues its efforts to strengthen academic collaborations. As part of these initiatives, a delegation from the Faculty of Medicine at Alfraganus University in Uzbekistan paid a visit to OMU.
On the first day of the visit, the delegation from Alfraganus University was received by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın in her office. Also present at the meeting were Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz and Coordinator of International Collaborations Dr. Lecturer Ahmet Aycan. The discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation between the two universities’ medical faculties, including joint research projects, collaborative publications, and exchange programs for students and academic staff. Both parties agreed to advance institutional relations through concrete and sustainable steps.
The visiting delegation from Alfraganus University’s Faculty of Medicine comprised academics from various medical specialties. The delegation included Dr. Ozod Kuliev (Cardiology), Dr. Bobir Khoshimov (Traumatology), Dr. Munojaat Shodieva (Radiology), Dr. Kamola Erkinova (Otorhinolaryngology), and Dr. Nazira Rikhsieva (Endocrinology).
During their visit, the Uzbek academics were hosted in an observational capacity at OMU’s Faculty of Medicine. They engaged in knowledge and experience-sharing sessions with their Turkish counterparts, each focusing on their respective fields of expertise. The meetings in cardiology, traumatology, radiology, otorhinolaryngology, and endocrinology are expected to lay the groundwork for future joint scientific endeavors.
The visit is expected to contribute to the development of multi-dimensional and long-term academic collaborations in the field of medicine between Ondokuz Mayıs University and Alfraganus University.
