“Individual is more than all the sciences giving information about him/her”
Dean Çelik mentioned the 2023 Education Vision of Turkey and she emphasized that the analysis of human beings with all aspects is the greatest responsibility of the academicians as required by this vision. She also remarked: "we will have this understanding by looking backward from the 100th anniversary of the National Struggle and by following these kinds of symposiums that show great integrity in terms of education. Our symposium included every discipline and theme related to education by focusing on this vision. ”

“The data of the participants show a great interest in our symposium”
Dean Çelik, who pointed out that there was an intense interest in the symposium, summarized the content and objectives of the symposium with the following words: "More than 421 participants registered in the system of the symposium as of May 2019 until the last date of registration. The number of abstracts uploaded to the system by the participants was 398. 55 artists from different countries participated in the exhibition of the symposium with 55 artistic works. "Philosophical approaches based on people lie in the background of effective educational performances"
Erdal Aksoy, Deputy Director of Samsun Provincial National Education, made a speech on the education and educational systems and he remarked: It is not an acceptable approach to consider the human being as a rational entity that is required to be successful both in terms of our history and rich heritage of civilization and of the human heritage. On the other hand, every educational system is a mirror of the society in which it comes from. Societies cannot be explained with the transformation of the practices produced by various civilizations in the periods of 20, 30 or 50 years periods into provisions, norms, and rules.

Prof. Dr. Sait Bilgiç, Rector of OMU, emphasized the significance of education and he stated: "I must express my happiness for organizing such a valuable symposium in Samsun and the University bearing the name of the day when the National Struggle began".

"We try to provide opportunities by means of which our young people can transform their ideas into information and technology ”
Emphasizing the role of universities in the development of countries, Rector Bilgiç said: "Our universities will support the studies that will contribute to the future and development of our country. These diligent efforts of the universities play a very important role in the development of the countries and when we look at all the developed countries of the world, we see that there are certainly highly developed and successful universities. Our country has come a long way in this manner and indeed it has gained serious momentum. While educating our young people in universities, we are trying to provide them with the opportunities they can present their ideas, develop and ultimately turn them into information and technology as well as offering them a bachelor's degree. In this way, they can experience better beginnings after undergraduate education."

“Samsun has a serious potential for achieving the expected success in the field of education for years"
Afterwards, the Governor of Samsun Osman Kaymak stated that the symposium was an indicator of the importance attached to education in Samsun and in our country and he said: “I am delighted to be among you on the occasion of the opening of such a beautiful and meaningful organization organized by the University within the framework of the 100th anniversary activities. This symposium is one of the concrete indicators of the importance and value given to education in our city and University. As a city where the first step of the National Struggle was taken under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the torch of salvation was burned, Samsun has a serious potential in terms of achieving the expected success in the field of education for many years. Our goal is to activate this potential in the most efficient way. In line with this goal, we all have duties in pre-school, primary, secondary, secondary and higher education levels."
After the speeches, the Singing Society of Turkish Folk Music in the Faculty of Education, the Department of Music Education, addressed the participants with a repertoire consisting of folk songs.
The symposium continued with the panel titled "Developments in Education from the Beginning of the National Struggle to the Present” in which Prof. Dr. Hayati Yücel, Prof. Dr. Yücel Gelişli and Prof. Dr. Bekir Buluç from Gazi University and Prof. Dr. Selahattin Avşaroğlu from Necmettin Erbakan University participated as panelists.
