Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Department of Nursing faculty member Prof. Dr. İlknur Aydın Avcı, Dr. Özge Öz Yıldırım, and Research Assistant Dilek Çelik Eren, in collaboration with the Association of Private Disabled Care Centres, hosted an online training seminar for staff working in Disabled and Elderly Care Centres throughout Türkiye. The seminar saw the participation of 350 staff members.

Prof. Avcı, who chaired the seminar session, expressed her satisfaction with organizing such an event. She introduced Çelik Eren, who presented on 'Scabies Disease and Care in Scabies Disease.' Çelik Eren explained that scabies is a highly contagious disease, particularly prevalent in communal living spaces like nursing homes, emphasizing the importance of care in managing this condition.

Following this, Dr. Özge Öz Yıldırım delivered a presentation on 'Seasonal Vaccines.' She focused on Influenza and Pneumonia vaccines, discussing their significance among the elderly as part of the Ministry of Health's Extended Vaccination Program.

After the presentations, queries from the participants were addressed by Prof. Avcı, Dr. Öz Yıldırım, and Research Assistant Çelik Eren. The program concluded with a decision to continue the project with different training topics to encompass all staff working in the Disabled and Elderly Care Centres across Türkiye and to maintain ongoing cooperation.
