“I am very pleased to be with you today at this ceremony, which holds deep symbolic and moral value. The midwifery profession is one of the well-established health disciplines that has existed from past to present and directly supports the family, the foundation of society. Today, midwives are professionals who support families from the prenatal period onward through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum process with roles in education, practice, and guidance. Dear families, your children are inheriting the legacy of a deeply rooted profession, and I congratulate you for this reason. Dear student midwives, you will become the heirs of both a longstanding profession and the tradition of the OMU Faculty of Health Sciences Midwifery Department. I would also like to thank our esteemed faculty members for conveying the philosophy and values of midwifery to our students and wish our students success in their educational journey.”
Following the speech, Deputy Head of the Midwifery Department Dr. Şebnem Rüzgar emphasized the social importance of the midwifery profession and the professional meaning of the fetoscope.
After the speeches, students were invited to the stage, where they donned their white coats and received their fetoscopes.
