OMU continues rise in URAP 2025–2026 field rankings
Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) demonstrated its academic performance across several disciplines in the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) 2025–2026 Türkiye and World Field Rankings.
OMU ranked 8th in Türkiye and 951st worldwide in Agriculture, 14th in Türkiye and 1,266th worldwide in Biological Sciences, 19th in Türkiye and 1,052nd worldwide in Medical and Health Sciences, and 21st in Türkiye and 1,354th worldwide in Chemical Engineering.
OMU ranks among Türkiye’s top 10 in Agriculture
One of OMU’s strongest results in the URAP 2025–2026 Field Rankings came in Agriculture, where the University ranked 8th in Türkiye and 951st worldwide.
OMU also ranked 14th nationally in Biological Sciences, 19th in Medical and Health Sciences, and 21st in Chemical Engineering, reflecting its academic output and research capacity across a range of scientific disciplines.
139-place improvement in the global ranking
OMU has also continued to improve its overall position in the URAP world ranking over recent years.
According to URAP data, the University rose from 1,485th worldwide in 2021 to 1,346th in 2025, representing an improvement of 139 places over the period.
OMU also ranked 21st among public universities in Türkiye.
Academic performance assessed through multiple indicators
URAP field rankings evaluate universities’ scientific performance through indicators including academic publications, citations, the impact of research within individual fields, and international collaboration.
The field-based rankings make it possible to compare universities’ research performance across different disciplines at both national and international levels.
As OMU continues its efforts to strengthen scientific productivity, research capacity, and international academic visibility in line with its Candidate Research University goals, its results in the URAP 2025–2026 Field Rankings reflect the University’s academic capacity across multiple areas of research.
