OMU Expands International Network with Four New Agreements at EAIE 2026

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has further expanded its international academic network by establishing new partnerships with higher education institutions in Georgia, Malaysia, Egypt, and India.

The four cooperation agreements were signed following meetings held during the 36th EAIE Conference and Exhibition (EAIE 2026) in Glasgow.

Through the new agreements, OMU aims to strengthen its international academic network and develop cooperation across a range of areas, including student and academic staff mobility, joint research, scientific events, and international projects.

OMU and Caucasus International University Establish New Partnership

OMU signed a cooperation agreement with Caucasus International University (CIU) in Georgia as part of its internationalization efforts.

The agreement, signed by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Kakhaber Kordzaia, aims to strengthen academic relations between the two universities and expand reciprocal opportunities for student and academic staff mobility.

The institutions also plan to develop joint activities in areas including research, scientific events, and international projects.

Representatives responsible for international relations and cooperation at Caucasus International University also attended the signing ceremony.

New Cooperation Agreement with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia

OMU further expanded its institutional partnerships in Malaysia by signing an agreement with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).

The agreement was signed by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and Prof. Dr. Sofia Hayati Yusoff, representing USIM.

The partnership is intended to strengthen academic and institutional relations between the two universities and establish a sustainable framework for future cooperation.

USIM representatives responsible for internationalization and external relations also attended the signing ceremony.

Damanhour University Joins OMU’s International Partnership Network

OMU also signed a cooperation agreement with Damanhour University, one of Egypt’s higher education institutions.

The agreement was signed by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and Damanhour University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Manal Moustafa Abdel-Rahman.

The partnership represents a new step toward increasing academic interaction between the two institutions and identifying new areas for joint activity.

Representatives responsible for international relations and cooperation at Damanhour University also took part in the ceremony.

OMU Signs Agreement with Rajalakshmi Engineering College

The fourth agreement was concluded with Rajalakshmi Engineering College in India.

Signed by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and Prof. Dr. Philip Praveen, representing Rajalakshmi Engineering College, the agreement aims to strengthen academic ties and expand reciprocal student and academic staff mobility.

The two institutions also plan to develop cooperation in joint research, scientific events, international projects, and other academic fields.

OMU was represented throughout the agreement process by Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Emine Şendurur, Head of the International Relations Office Dr. Ahmet Aycan, and Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tütüncü.
