Kazakh Students Visit OMU as Part of the “I Am Learning Turkish, I Am Going to Türkiye” Project
A delegation of 27 students and teachers from Kazakhstan visited Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) as part of the "I Am Learning Turkish, I Am Going to Türkiye" project, coordinated by the Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education under the Governor's Office of Samsun.
The delegation was welcomed by the Office of International Relations, where participants attended a comprehensive presentation introducing OMU's academic structure, education and research opportunities, internationalization strategy, international student admission procedures, and international exchange programs, particularly Erasmus+.
The presentation also highlighted the activities carried out by the Office of International Relations, the University's international partnerships, the academic and social support services available to international students, and campus life.
Meeting with the Office of International Relations
During the visit, the delegation was hosted by Dr. Ahmet Aycan, Head of the Office of International Relations, together with the Office's management team.
Following the presentation, participants had the opportunity to ask questions and exchange views on Türkiye's higher education system, OMU's internationalization vision, and the educational opportunities available to international students.
Campus Tour and TÖMER Visit
As part of the program, the delegation also toured the campus and visited the Central Library, where they were introduced to its academic resources and technological facilities.
The visit was accompanied by İlyas Kaya, coordinator from the Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education. The Kazakh delegation also included teachers Safiya Aliyeva, Nuraddin Tamazov, and Mustafa Liman.
The program concluded at the Turkish Language Teaching Application and Research Center (TÖMER), where students participated in a Turkish language class offered as part of the project.
The visit contributed to strengthening educational and cultural cooperation between Türkiye and Kazakhstan, while providing participants with firsthand insight into Ondokuz Mayıs University and the Turkish higher education system. It also helped raise awareness of future academic opportunities and further reinforced educational collaboration between the two countries.
