As part of the “Erasmus Addiction and Addiction Prevention Blended Intensive Programme” organized by the Erasmus Exchange Program Coordination Office of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), 20 students and four academics from Estonia, Poland, Slovenia, Portugal, and Romania were hosted in Samsun.

Before arriving in Türkiye, participants attended online sessions and later took part in face-to-face training activities held at OMU between 9 and 13 June 2026. During the programme, students received instruction from faculty members of the Addiction Prevention Research and Application Center, the Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

As part of the activities, participants also visited the Samsun branch of the Green Crescent Counseling Center (YEDAM). During the visit, they received information about the initiatives carried out by the Green Crescent, the services provided by YEDAM, and the support models used in addiction prevention and recovery.

Students and academics toured the center’s workshop facilities and had the opportunity to observe how individuals undergoing recovery are supported through artistic and sports-based activities.

The programme aimed to strengthen the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of addiction prevention while promoting the sharing of good practices among students and academics from different countries. The initiative also contributed to enhancing international cooperation and dialogue on addressing addiction-related challenges.
