OMU strengthens academic ties and student outreach at China Education Expo 2026
The OMU delegation began meetings in Beijing with Chinese institutions and prospective students, highlighting cooperation opportunities in health sciences, agriculture, education, engineering, mobility, and joint degree programs.
Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) is taking part in China Education Expo 2026 (CEE 2026) in Beijing as part of its efforts to expand international academic cooperation and strengthen its international student network.
During the two-day fair, OMU began meetings aimed both at developing new partnerships with academic institutions in China and introducing its educational opportunities to prospective Chinese students.
The OMU delegation is led by Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and includes Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Emine Şendurur and Head of the International Relations Office Dr. Ahmet Aycan.
OMU presents its international education opportunities
At the fair, which brings together international education stakeholders and students in China, OMU is presenting its academic programs, research capacity, international exchange opportunities, and educational services for international students.
As part of the event, a dedicated B2B session was organized for Turkish universities, allowing representatives of participating Chinese institutions to visit university booths and explore potential areas of cooperation.
Representatives of eight institutions visited the OMU booth and received information about the University’s institutional structure and academic opportunities.
The discussions focused on potential academic cooperation, particularly in health sciences, agriculture, education, and engineering.
OMU’s healthcare infrastructure draws interest
During bilateral meetings, representatives of participating institutions expressed particular interest in OMU’s institutional capacity in the field of health, especially its Faculty of Medicine and university hospitals.
The University’s healthcare infrastructure and clinical training opportunities emerged as prominent areas for potential academic cooperation.
The meetings also addressed possible joint degree programs, student and academic mobility, and short-term international education programs.
The parties exchanged views on developing cooperation models that could provide mutual benefits across different disciplines.
OMU introduces educational opportunities to Chinese students
CEE 2026 also offers an important opportunity for direct engagement with prospective Chinese students.
During individual student meetings planned throughout the fair, OMU will provide detailed information about its undergraduate and graduate study opportunities, academic programs, services for international students, application procedures, and campus life.
The meetings aim to help Chinese students gain a clearer understanding of OMU’s academic and social environment while increasing awareness of higher education opportunities in Türkiye.
Talks continue for new academic partnerships
Throughout the two-day fair, the OMU delegation will continue meeting with representatives of different institutions.
In line with its internationalization strategy, OMU aims to strengthen relationships with universities across different regions, expand student and academic mobility, and transform international partnerships into concrete education and research activities.
The meetings held during CEE 2026 are expected to contribute to the development of OMU’s academic relations with China and to greater diversity within its international student community.
