Turkish National Agency President İlker Astarcı visits OMU stand at NAFSA 2026

ORLANDO – Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), participating in the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo held in Florida, USA, one of the world’s leading gatherings in higher education, hosted an important visit during the first days of the event. Turkish National Agency President İlker Astarcı visited the OMU stand at the “Study in Türkiye” pavilion and met with the university delegation.

Turkish flag pin presented to Rector Aydın

During the visit, which took place amid the intensive international networking atmosphere of the conference, Turkish National Agency President İlker Astarcı presented OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın with a Turkish flag pin as a meaningful gesture.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on OMU’s global education vision, ongoing exchange programs, and internationalization strategies.

Building new partnerships with universities worldwide

Positioning internationalization as one of its foremost strategic priorities, OMU is using its participation in NAFSA 2026 to increase its institutional visibility and strengthen its presence within global academic networks.

Through the meetings and engagements scheduled throughout the conference, which continues until 29 May, the university delegation aims to further deepen academic and scientific collaborations with institutions across different regions of the world in the coming period.
