OMU enters the top 10 in Türkiye for social responsibility projects

According to the data announced in the Council of Higher Education’s (YÖK) 2025 University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report, Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) ranked among the top 10 universities in Türkiye with 172 social responsibility projects.

YÖK stated in the 2025 University Monitoring and Evaluation General Report that there has been an increase in the number of social responsibility projects, with 123 universities implementing a total of 5,839 projects. Of these, 5,427 were carried out by state universities and 412 by foundation universities.

OMU ranks in the top 10 in Türkiye

In the ranking, which includes projects with a defined budget, objective, and output and lasting at least two months, Ege University ranked first with 1,233 projects, followed by Erciyes University with 1,130 projects and Selçuk University with 399 projects.

The report also included projects carried out by university students. Accordingly, in 2024, students across 71 universities implemented a total of 9,556 social responsibility projects.

According to data released by YÖK, it was emphasized that students’ active participation in social and cultural life and their involvement in social responsibility projects yield significant gains.

As the OMU community, we believe that the activities carried out in the field of social contribution and social responsibility make a significant contribution to raising social awareness.
