Organized under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Türkiye Technology Team Foundation, TEKNOFEST Istanbul has officially opened its doors.
Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), participating with booth number R16, is taking part in the festival, which will feature a wide range of events at Istanbul Atatürk Airport—from competitions to air shows.
Ondokuz Mayıs University attracted great interest at TEKNOFEST Istanbul with its booth showcasing scientific innovations. The booth, visited on the first day by representatives from both public and private institutions, displayed many scientific inventions.
This year, OMU has had 14 teams qualify as finalists in various competitions, continuing to prepare its students for the future in the field of technology. At the TEKNOFEST Istanbul booth, several innovations are being presented, including:
• Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs),
• Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs),
• Armed UAVs (SIHAs),
• Hemp-based products,
• and many other scientific breakthroughs.
Standing out with competition categories designed to support technological advancement in critical fields, TEKNOFEST Istanbul will host contests in 58 main and 137 subcategories. Teams that pass the preliminary rounds will benefit from over 85 million TL in financial support. In total, more than 65 million TL in prizes will be awarded to the top teams.
More than 565,000 teams and 1.1 million competitors applied to participate in the TEKNOFEST Istanbul technology competitions, where young innovators aim to turn their dreams into reality.
Having welcomed nearly 11 million visitors so far, TEKNOFEST will continue for five days in Istanbul, hosting activities for every age group—from children to youth, from families to technology enthusiasts.
The festival will feature:
• Air shows,
• Concerts,
• Stage performances,
• Educational workshops,
• Simulation experience zones,
• Planetarium shows,
• Science demonstrations,
• The TEKNOFEST Time Tunnel,
• Exhibitions of national land, sea, and air vehicles,
• and the opportunity for students to experience their first flight.
Additionally, renowned singer Kıraç will meet music lovers on the festival stage on September 19 at 19:00.
As part of the TEKNOFEST Istanbul opening ceremony, demonstration flights by paramotors, Hürkuş, and SOLOTÜRK took place.
Air shows—among the most closely followed events at TEKNOFEST—delighted the audience with thrilling performances from paramotors, Hürkuş, and SOLOTÜRK.
The festival will also showcase ATAK helicopters, Hürkuş, ANKA, Bayraktar TB2, Bayraktar TB3, and Bayraktar AKINCI.
Participation in TEKNOFEST Istanbul is free of charge, but visitors are required to register online. Entry and exit to the event area will be permitted between 09:00 and 19:00.
