Türkiye–Kosovo University Ties Strengthened Through Rector Aydın’s Visit

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, accompanied by a delegation, visited the University of Pristina, one of Kosovo’s most established higher education institutions. During the visit, the parties discussed potential academic cooperation and joint project opportunities between the two universities.

OMU Delegation Meets with University of Pristina

A high-level delegation from Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) visited the University of Pristina Rectorate, located in Kosovo’s capital city of Pristina.

The OMU delegation was led by Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, and included Dr. Ahmet Aycan, Head of the International Relations Office, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İlkay Erken, a faculty member from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The delegation was welcomed by University of Pristina Rector Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu and Vice-Rector for Internationalization and Academic Exchange Prof. Dr. Rozafa Basha.

“We Are Open to Joint Work in Medicine and Surgery”

The meeting focused on developing academic cooperation, establishing joint research projects, and taking concrete steps especially in the fields of medicine and surgery. OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın shared proposals for academic and scientific collaboration in these fields.

Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu, Rector of the University of Pristina, noted that there are also shared interests in fields such as information technologies and engineering, and stated that they are open to collaboration in those areas as well.

Agreements to Focus on Students and Faculty

At the end of the meeting, both universities agreed that future partnerships should be structured to benefit both students and academic staff, highlighting a mutual understanding and commitment to long-term collaboration.
