“Today, we have come together on the occasion of the donation of the library prepared by the Turkish Historical Society for the 100th anniversary of our Republic to our university. Language and history are among the most important elements in the formation of our identity. Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk also drew attention to the importance of this issue by donating his personal inheritance to both the Turkish Historical Society and the Turkish Language Association. With this awareness, the Turkish Historical Society carries out very valuable publishing activities and academic studies, making significant contributions to world history, the Turkic world, and our country.”
Stating that the donated works would make an important contribution to academic studies, Aydın said, “Today, very valuable publications are being brought to our university. Our students, academics, and citizens in our city will be able to benefit from these resources and make use of them in their education and academic studies.”
Prof. Dr. Özgen: “We want to emphasize history, social sciences, and books”
Turkish Historical Society President Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen, in his speech, referred to the institution’s founding mission and ongoing work, drawing attention to the importance Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk attached to the Turkish Historical Society.

Later, he donated his own inheritance to the Turkish Historical Society so that its activities would not be interrupted. On this occasion, I commemorate with respect and gratitude Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and all the heroes, veterans, and martyrs of the National Struggle.”
Stating that the libraries established at universities on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic have attracted great interest, Özgen continued:
“To emphasize the 100th anniversary of our Republic, books, and libraries, we began establishing Turkish Historical Society 100th Anniversary Libraries in the central libraries of our universities. The interest we have received from our universities and especially from our students has made us extremely happy. In the coming period, we will continue our efforts to ensure that Turkish Historical Society publications are available in the central libraries of all universities in Türkiye.”
