Oxford Test of English exams now available at OMU Kurupelit Campus

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU), in line with its internationalization goals, has taken an important step by bringing globally recognized foreign language exams to its campus.

Within the scope of the protocol signed with Oxford University Press, the OMU School of Foreign Languages (YDYO) has become the authorized application and testing center in the region for the internationally recognized Oxford Test of English (OTE).

The cooperation protocol was signed and entered into force by OMU School of Foreign Languages Director Prof. Dr. Emrah Ekmekçi and Oxford University Press Business Development Manager for Assessments Ebru Abanoz.

“Candidates will be provided with a fast and reliable digital exam experience”

In his statement, Prof. Dr. Emrah Ekmekçi emphasized that this cooperation is an important achievement both for university students and for candidates in the region. Ekmekçi stated: “We will now offer a world-class testing service in our School of Foreign Languages building located on our Kurupelit Campus. This protocol will strengthen our university’s international prestige while providing candidates with a fast and reliable exam experience in a digital environment.”

International-standard testing at Kurupelit Campus

The OTE test center will operate in the School of Foreign Languages building on the OMU Kurupelit Campus. The main features of the exams to be administered at the center are as follows:

  • Digital assessment: Reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills will be tested entirely in a digital environment.
  • Fast feedback: Exam results will be announced within only 5 working days.
  • OSYM equivalency: The Oxford Test of English is included in the list of exams recognized as equivalent by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), allowing it to be used in academic applications and preparatory class exemptions.
  • Regional access: Candidates in Samsun and surrounding provinces will now be able to obtain internationally valid certification through this OMU-based center.


Candidates who wish to take the Oxford Test of English at the OMU School of Foreign Languages must select “OMU SCHOOL OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES” as the test center on the application page.

The exam calendar, application requirements, and detailed information will soon be available on the official websites of the School of Foreign Languages.
