The young learners who successfully completed the 2024–2025 academic year at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Daycare experienced the joy of their very first graduation ceremony.
Held at OMU’s Atatürk Congress and Culture Center (AKM), the graduation event was filled with celebrations and performances. OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar, Head of Health, Culture and Sports Department Lecturer Selman Aslan, teachers, and families joined the little graduates to share their excitement.
OMU Daycare marked the successful completion of the 2024–2025 academic year with great happiness. During the year-end celebration, Daycare Director Ayşegül Sözen shared her thoughts with these words:
“Today, we are thrilled to celebrate the successful completion of the 2024–2025 academic year and share this joy with our children. As our Head Teacher, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, said, ‘The cornerstone of a nation’s progress is its children.’ Our children are the assurance of our future, the joy of our lives, and like a rainbow, they are the flowers that will color the future.”
“Our children have shown incredible determination throughout the year with their big hearts,” said Director Sözen. “They worked hard and made significant progress. In addition to developing their cognitive, emotional, social, and psychomotor skills, they had their first experiences of social life here in school. They took major steps toward becoming individuals with strong social skills.”
The event also featured an exhibition of the works that the children prepared throughout the year, expressing their emotions and thoughts through a carefully planned process. Addressing the parents, Sözen said, “You should be proud of them. Today, we are happy to share with you these beautiful works, which reflect their efforts and development.”
Sözen, konuşmasının sonunda bu süreçte çocuklara sevgi ve emekle rehberlik eden öğretmenlere, özveriyle çalışan gündüz bakımevi personeline, desteklerini esirgemeyen OMÜ yönetimine ve her daim yanlarında olan değerli velilere teşekkür ederek sözlerini tamamladı.
Concluding her speech, Sözen thanked the teachers who lovingly and devotedly guided the children, the dedicated daycare staff, the OMU administration for their unwavering support, and the valued parents who always stood by their children.
The graduation ceremony continued with dance performances and songs prepared by the children for the guests. Afterwards, the young graduates donned their caps and gowns and received their diplomas from Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten and Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar.
Following the cutting of the graduation cake, the children recited a flag pledge and celebrated the day by joyfully tossing their caps into the air. The ceremony concluded with a visit to the exhibition area.
