OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal met the students staying at Credit and Hostel Institution affiliated with the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the picnic area within OMU Pond. Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Cengiz Batuk, Prof. Dr. Fehmi Yazıcı and Prof. Dr. Recep Sancak, the Secretary General Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gençcelep, Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yener Aksoy and Samsun Provincial Director of Youth and Sports İsmail Hakkı Kasapoğlu also attended the “Rector-Student meeting”.
In this meeting, OMU Students staying at Credit and Hostel Institution in Samsun found the opportunity to convey their demands, expectations, and problems they have been facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic to Rector Ünal. Besides, the international students studying at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) expressed their appreciation for the discount on the tuition fees made in October and thanked Rector Ünal.
Stating that education has changed dramatically with the rise of online learning due to Covid-19 pandemic in Turkey and all across the world, Rector Ünal said: “OMU is a well-established university. Therefore, we have a broad range of experience with distance education. In case of any form of trouble with the distance education, all our units contact students to solve the problems. We have strong and effective communication channels and our students should take the advantages of digital opportunities by using these channels.”
