OMU ranks 945th worldwide in Webometrics after significant annual rise
Ondokuz Mayıs University has risen by 248 places in the Webometrics World University Rankings over the past year, reaching 945th place worldwide. Having entered the top 1,000 universities globally, OMU ranked 17th among state universities in Türkiye.
The 2026 results of the Webometrics World University Rankings, which evaluate universities worldwide based on their digital presence, academic impact, openness, and global visibility, have been announced. Ondokuz Mayıs University has continued its steady upward trend in this prestigious ranking.
According to Webometrics 2026 data, which assessed 32,000 higher education institutions from more than 200 countries, OMU rose to 945th place worldwide, successfully entering the top 1,000 universities. OMU ranked 21st nationally in Türkiye and 17th among state universities.
Demonstrating a remarkable and consistent upward momentum over the past four years, OMU has climbed a total of 498 places since 2023. This rise stands as a concrete indicator that the university’s strategic efforts to enhance digital visibility, academic productivity, and the international reach of its scientific output have yielded tangible results.
