Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Bafra Vocational School bid farewell to 200 students who successfully completed their studies in the 2025–2026 academic year during a graduation ceremony held in Bafra.

The ceremony, hosted at the New Indoor Sports Hall of the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, was attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer, Director of Bafra Vocational School Prof. Dr. Ömer Çalışkan, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Prof. Dr. Yetkin Bulut, Director of Bafra Vocational School of Tourism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zuhal Çilingir Ük, academics, public officials, graduates, and their families.

Vice Rector Sumer: “Our country needs hardworking and responsible young people like you”

In her address, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayşe Pınar Sumer described graduation day as a source of great pride for students, families, and academics alike.

“After a long and dedicated educational journey, you are now entering a new chapter of your lives and receiving the rewards of your efforts. You have been educated as individuals who can apply scientific knowledge, uphold ethical values, communicate effectively, and focus on solutions. Today’s professional world needs people who can access information quickly, use technology efficiently, and work collaboratively. I am confident that you will successfully apply the knowledge and experience you have gained here throughout your careers. I wish you every success in the future.”

Director Çalışkan: “Today is not an ending, but the beginning of new journeys”

Director of Bafra Vocational School Prof. Dr. Ömer Çalışkan emphasized that graduation also brings new responsibilities.

“The diplomas you have earned today carry important responsibilities. You must continue to improve yourselves, acquire new knowledge, and keep pace with a changing world. Be hardworking, honest, and ethical individuals who set an example for those around you. Remember that Ondokuz Mayıs University is your home and will always remain so. Our university will continue to support you even after graduation.”

Valedictorian Bayram: “This achievement is the result of a collective effort”

Valedictorian Simanur Bayram highlighted that her success was made possible through the support of many people.

“The diploma I receive today is the result of years of hard work, sacrifice, and support. I would like to thank my family for always standing by me, my professors for guiding me with their knowledge and experience, and my friends with whom I shared this journey. I look to the future with hope and believe that I will continue striving to contribute to society using the knowledge and skills I have gained here.”

Following the speeches, certificates of achievement and commemorative gifts were presented to the top-performing students of the 2025–2026 academic year by members of the protocol.

The ceremony concluded with graduates celebrating by tossing their caps into the air.
