Giving information on the works, “Excavations carried out in Alabanda will not be limited to recovering archaeological materials and transferring them to museums. We aim to restore these ruins through protection and restorations, together with analysing the findings with an interdisciplinary approach with regards to many other disciplines such as Anthropology, Paleology, Epigraphy, Philology, and Archeometry.”, said Mr. Temür.

“The Excavation Will Also Make a Contribution to Tourism”

Due to its position being on the junction of ancient roads, deeply investigating the Ancient City of Alabanda with scientific excavations is of vital importance. These works may provide important findings which will document the cultural interactions between regions, and they are also very important in terms of determining the status of the city in the archaeological world.” said Temür while drawing attention to the fact that the excavation will also make a contribution to tourism.

Ancient City of Alabanda is a significant Karian City which is founded in the current Doğanyurt (Araphisar) Village, which lies west to Çine Province of Aydın City, and at the outskirts of the hills which are north of the Gökbel Mountain and to the west of Marsyas (Çine) Creek.
