A certificate ceremony was held for students who successfully completed the “Scientific Research, Project Writing, and TÜBİTAK 2204-A-Focused Project Development Training Certificate Program for High School Students” organized by the Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Continuous Education Center (OMÜSEM).

Coordinated by Dr. Lecturer İsmail Çetin and implemented by a project team formed within OMU, the training program concluded with two separate ceremonies held at participating schools. The first ceremony took place at Aziz Atik Science High School, and the second at Garip Zeycan Yıldırım Science High School.

A total of 120 students who successfully completed the program received their certificates at the ceremonies, which were also attended by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten. The program aimed to familiarize students with the stages of scientific research, teach project writing techniques, and prepare them for the project development process for the TÜBİTAK 2204-A High School Students Research Projects Competition.

During the ceremonies, certificates of appreciation were also presented to school administrators in recognition of their support for the program. OMÜSEM officials emphasized that such training initiatives aim to strengthen high school students’ scientific thinking skills and promote a culture of project development.

Vice Rector Kesten: “You are the young people who will build our future”

Addressing the students in his speech, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten said, “You are students studying at some of Türkiye’s most successful schools and the young people who will build our future. Your dreams are valuable, but turning them into reality requires technical knowledge, methodological understanding, and disciplined work. This training is not an end but a beginning. Project writing training is a tool; the real goal is to reflect the perspective and methodological knowledge you have gained here into your lives. Life itself is a project.”

Expressing his belief that the students will assume significant roles in the years ahead, Kesten added, “In ten or fifteen years, we will see some of you in very important positions. Perhaps you will be standing at these podiums. Every training and experience you receive will bring you one step closer to those goals. You can use artificial intelligence tools in this process; however, do not leave production entirely to them. Consider them as assistants, let the real production be yours. Many ideas that seem like dreams today can become reality tomorrow. Never stop dreaming and producing.”

The program concluded with the presentation of certificates and a group photo session.
