Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Medicine hosted a scientific program titled “Multidisciplinary Approach in Endometrial Cancers: Current Diagnostic and Treatment Practices in Routine Clinical Care.”
The meeting brought together specialists in the field and featured sessions in which important information was shared on topics ranging from updated diagnostic methods to treatment protocols.
The program, held in the OMU Faculty of Medicine Dean’s Office Blue Hall, opened with remarks by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kefeli. The event was organized in two separate sessions. In the first session, moderated by Prof. Dr. Bahaddin Yılmaz and Prof. Dr. Nilgün Özbek Okumuş, Assoc. Prof. Mesut Ünal delivered a presentation on the management of endometrial hyperplasia and predicting cancer risk.
Following this, Prof. Dr. Murat Danacı discussed imaging findings and diagnostic approaches for endometrial masses. The session continued with Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kefeli, who presented current diagnostic approaches and prognostic biomarkers in endometrial tumors. The session concluded with a question-and-answer segment.
In the second session, moderated by Prof. Dr. Feyyaz Özdemir and Assoc. Prof. Yasin Durmuş, Dr. Fatma Özmen delivered a presentation on surgical methods in endometrial cancer and criteria for determining which procedure is appropriate for which patient. Asst. Prof. Alparslan Serarslan presented current approaches in the management of endometrial cancer, while Dr. Cemil Gündüz shared treatment options based on molecular classification. The session continued with a question-and-answer discussion.
The event concluded with the delivery of closing remarks. The scientific meeting held at OMU was noted to have made a significant contribution by conveying current practices in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic cancers to its participants.
