Under the auspices of the Samsun Governor's Office, the project called Strengthening Education and Increasing the Quality in Education, which will be carried out by Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and the Provincial Directorate of National Education, comes to life with the signed protocol.

Governor Assoc Prof. Dr. Zülkif Dağlı, Rector Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ünal, and Provincial Director of National Education Dr. Murat Ağar signed the protocol at the ceremony held in Samsun Governorship.

Planned studies will be carried out in all areas

With the cooperation between the two institutions, it is intended to ensure the realization of all educational services that will increase the knowledge, skills, and competence levels of teachers and especially students by carrying out planned studies in all areas deemed appropriate by the parties, especially in the areas determined as priority regarding the quality of education in schools affiliated to the Provincial Directorate of National Education.

The professional qualification of teachers will be increased

With the signed protocol, it is planned to increase the qualifications of teachers for the profession, support the social, cultural, and professional development of education stakeholders, and improve their professional experience with training on social innovation, information technologies, content development, effective material development, and the use of technology in education.

Master's and Ph.D. programs will be encouraged

The agreement, valid for two years, aims to encourage teachers to train in master's or doctoral programs to support their graduate education and to ensure that teachers receive support from academicians working at the University for their academic publications.

Participation in innovative training practices will be ensured

Participation in innovative educational applications such as Artificial Intelligence, Web 3.0 Technologies, Cyber Security, and new directions in educational technologies, held at Samsun Technopark Incubation Center, will be ensured, and the professional development of students, teachers, and school administrators will be increased with the training held by expert academics. In addition, teachers will be provided with the opportunity to come together with academicians and develop TÜBİTAK 4004 and 4005 projects.

Governor Dağlı: "Information and technology production is progressing rapidly."

Making evaluations at the signing ceremony, Governor Zülkif Dağlı pointed out that the rapid progress of information and technology production brought about changes in the education systems of countries and that countries' ability to follow innovations in the world is directly proportional to their success in education systems. He also said that it is inevitable for academics and teachers to improve their knowledge/skills and work together to follow innovations.

"Academician-teacher partnership should be carried out successfully."

Dağlı stated that the academic success of the students in all fields depends on the successful execution of the academician-teacher partnership, adding, "With this protocol, expert support will be provided under the conditions deemed appropriate by OMU in the fields of in-service training that teachers may need, improvement of education infrastructure, evaluation of teaching processes, enrichment of the curriculum, development of seminars and projects in terms of quality or providing education and training support. I hope that the protocol, which I believe will be implemented successfully and yield good results, will benefit OMU, the Provincial Directorate of National Education, our teachers, and students."

In their speeches at the protocol signing ceremony, Rector Ünal and Provincial Director of National Education Ağar wished the protocol would benefit both institutions and our country.
