New communication platform planned between OMU and medical industry cluster

A stakeholder meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation between Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and the Medikal Sanayi Kümelenmesi (MEDİKÜM – Medical Industry Cluster) was held at the Samsun Surgical Hand Tools and Health Museum.

The meeting was attended by Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı, OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, OMU Technology Transfer Office (TTO) Director Sinan Tosun, Samsun Technopark General Manager Levent Tanrıverdi, ASKON Samsun Branch President and MEDİKÜM Chairman Ahmet Alp Doğru, and Vice Chairman Hasan Bahadır.

During the meeting, plans were discussed to establish a joint communication platform between OMU and MEDİKÜM stakeholders in order to make the flow of knowledge between the university and industry more effective.

The agenda also included sharing OMU’s patent portfolio and promotional materials with MEDİKÜM stakeholders, as well as informing MEDİKÜM member companies about existing and planned support mechanisms.

Participants evaluated the current status of ongoing matchmaking efforts between academics and companies and shared a roadmap for future R&D and innovation-focused meetings to be carried out within the framework of university–industry cooperation.

In the final part of the program, the needs analysis process of the MEDİKÜM UR-GE Project was addressed, and assessments were made on improving the process in line with stakeholder feedback and recommendations.
