Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) is hosting a congress titled “Crop Adaptation to Climate Change.” The event focuses on the impact of climate change on agriculture and crop production.
The congress is attended by Iğdır University Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel, along with academics and students.
Organized under the coordination of OMU, the congress is supported by the European Union's ReCrop COST Action and TÜBİTAK. Invited speakers from Germany, Belgium, and Spain are participating in the event, alongside 85 researchers from various universities across Türkiye. This year’s program includes 34 oral presentations, 12 short communications, and 21 poster sessions.
The objectives of the congress include raising awareness of climate change’s effects on agricultural production, increasing academic consciousness around the topic, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
It was announced that selected papers presented at the congress will be published in a special issue of the Annals of Applied Biology journal. The congress will continue with sessions and presentations scheduled from 17 to 19 September 2025, and will conclude with a closing program.
