OMU and Turkish Space Agency explore collaboration in space and advanced technologies
Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) continues its efforts to combine its scientific expertise with the vision of space technologies and domestic production in line with the goals of the National Technology Initiative.
In this context, officials from the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) were hosted at the university, where strategic projects and potential areas of cooperation in future technologies were discussed.
The meeting, held at the OMU Rectorate, was attended by OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın, TUA Vice President Fatih Dulkan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, Faculty of Engineering academic Prof. Dr. Sevim Alışır, Prof. Dr. Bülent Çağlar from the Hemp Research Institute, and members of the TUA delegation.
During the meeting, the application potential of sustainable and innovative projects, such as “Production and R&D Studies of Composite Materials Prepared with Mushroom Mycelium”, in the fields of the space industry and advanced technologies was discussed in detail.

OMU Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın expressed her hope that the steps taken to crown academic expertise with domestic and national projects would be beneficial for both the university and the country, and thanked the Turkish Space Agency officials for their visit and valuable contributions.
