OMU signs strategic cooperation agreement with Vietnam’s Phenikaa University

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) added a new milestone to its engagements at the APAIE 2026 Conference and Exhibition held in Hong Kong. As a result of bilateral meetings conducted during the fair, OMU signed a significant cooperation agreement with Phenikaa University, one of Vietnam’s leading higher education institutions.

The agreement, realized following the intensive diplomatic efforts of the OMU delegation, was signed on behalf of OMU by Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın and on behalf of Phenikaa University by Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phu Khanh.

Present at the signing ceremony from the OMU delegation were Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper Kesten, Rector’s Advisor Prof. Dr. Emine Şendurur, Head of the International Relations Office Dr. Lecturer Ahmet Aycan, and Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tütüncü. Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Phu Khanh was accompanied by international relations administrators from Phenikaa University.

The agreement aims to establish academic and scientific bridges between the two universities. Within this framework, concrete steps are planned in areas such as student and faculty exchange programs, the development of joint research projects, the organization of scientific meetings, and the establishment of dual degree programs.

With this new cooperation agreement, OMU continues to expand its academic network in the Asia-Pacific region and advances steadily toward its internationalization goals.
