OMU secures TÜBİTAK support for National Technology Workshop project
Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) has achieved another significant milestone in line with its vision to support scientific research and technological development. The “TÜBİTAK National Technology Workshop Project” prepared by OMU has been approved by the TÜBİTAK board following evaluation and has been granted funding. With the signing of the agreement, the implementation phase of the project has officially commenced.
Supported under the TÜBİTAK 4003-T National Technology Workshops Support Program, the project aims to establish a modern, comprehensive, and multidisciplinary technology workshop within OMU. The workshop will support research and development activities of students and academics, provide a strong foundation for entrepreneurship and innovation initiatives, and contribute to students’ effective preparation for national and international technology competitions. It will also enable the integration of theoretical knowledge with practice through applied training programs designed for students and researchers.
With an approximate budget of 30 million TRY, the project aims to establish a robust infrastructure by procuring the necessary machinery, equipment, and technical resources required for the workshop. This infrastructure will support applied studies across various disciplines. Through this support provided by TÜBİTAK, OMU aims to continue contributing to the National Technology Initiative, lead scientific and technological advancements, and make a strong impact on the development of young talents.
The workshop is planned to become operational during the spring semester.
