Farmer unions receive IPARD III project development training at OMU
Representatives of the agriculture and livestock sector in Samsun came together for a project preparation training focused on the EU-supported IPARD III Programme. The training aimed to strengthen project development capacity and enable more effective use of rural development supports.
Organised through cooperation between Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Agriculture and the Samsun Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the training was held at the OMU Faculty of Agriculture. Coordinated by the Department of Agricultural Economics, the programme was attended by administrators and technical staff from the Samsun Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the Samsun Cattle Breeders’ Association, the Samsun Sheep and Goat Breeders’ Association, and the Bafra District Red Meat Producers’ Association.
Training delivered by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bozoğlu and IPARD expert Mustafa Yücel
The training, part of which was attended by Dean Prof. Dr. Muharrem Özcan, was delivered by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Bozoğlu, a faculty member of the Department of Agricultural Economics, and Mustafa Yücel, an expert from the Samsun Provincial Coordination Office of the Agriculture and Rural Development Support Institution.
Participants received both theoretical and practical training
Within the scope of the programme, participants were provided with both theoretical and practical information on IPARD III supports, the support process and implementation practices, project documentation and preparation stages, business plans, technical projects, and the preparation and submission of other required documents.
The main objective of the IPARD III Programme is capacity building and effective use of supports
The training is expected to contribute to enhancing the project development capacity of institutions and unions operating in the fields of agriculture and livestock, and to ensuring more effective utilisation of rural development supports.
