Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın was honored with the “Outstanding Achievement of the Year” award as part of the by Protokol 4th European Awards (IV. European Awards), organized by by Medya.

At the ceremony held in Istanbul, Prof. Dr. Aydın received her award from representatives of by Protokol Magazine. The event was attended by prominent figures from academia, media, and the business world, and honored individuals and institutions that demonstrated excellence in various fields.

In her speech after receiving the award, Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın expressed her happiness to be part of such a meaningful event. She stated, “It is a great pleasure for me to be here on this special night where merit meets appreciation. I accept this award not only on behalf of myself but also on behalf of the Ondokuz Mayıs University family that I represent. The mission of universities is not limited to generating knowledge; it is also our fundamental responsibility to bring knowledge to society and to prepare our youth for the future by equipping them with universal values.”

Highlighting the guiding role of the press in helping society access accurate information, Aydın said, “In today’s world, where information spreads rapidly, reaching the truth has become even more important. I see this award as a source of motivation that encourages us to produce more, work harder, and contribute to society.”

At the end of her speech, Prof. Dr. Aydın thanked by Medya Group Chairman of the Board Barış Yazıcı and the by Protokol Magazine family, noting that the award holds significant meaning for advancing Ondokuz Mayıs University’s vision in science, education, and social contribution.
