Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Medicine 4th year student Eda Erdemir took the role of the dean for 1 day in the scope of the March 14 Doctor's Day.

Within the scope of the event held at OMU Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine 4th year student medical intern Eda Erdemir took the seat of the Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Ayhan Dağdemir symbolically.

Dean Dağdemir took notes

Faculty of Medicine Vice Deans Prof. Dr. Özcan Yılmaz, Prof. Dr. Levent Güngör and Faculty Secretary Hatice Aztopal Çavuş were also present at the event where the 4th year student medical intern Eda Erdemir expressed the wishes and requests on behalf of their friends. Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Ayhan Dağdemir listened carefully to Erdemir and took lots of notes.

Thereafter, emphasizing the meaning and importance of the day, 4th year student Eda Erdemir said "The foundation of the March 14 was founded 100 years ago under the leadership of medical student Hikmet Boran and should remind us of the medical student martyrs who fulfilled their duties for their homeland without thinking twice during the conditions of the day. The date is also important in that it brings to the agenda the question of how health practices and health services could be rendered more productive."

“Physicists should be preeminently protected to the best”

Medicine student Erdemir pointed out the phenomenon of violence in health and continued "Although health applications and treatment methods are getting better each day, certain applications, such as performance premiums, discredit the values of medicine and, unfortunately, leads to less qualitative health services. In addition, the violence against physicists which come to the agenda frequently in recent times saddens us deeply and demotivates health workers. We request that physicists who are a right to all humanity are preeminently protected while doing their jobs."

Saying "The profession of a doctor is art as told by Hippocrates" Erdemir finished their words stating "The only thing we expect from our art is sentimental satisfaction. I wish to finish my words giving the promise that we will protect the legacy of the savior and founder of our country, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and do our job until our last breath in any condition our country is in. I sincerely congratulate the day of all my colleagues and health workers."
