The students of the Ondokuz Mayıs University Turkish Teaching Research and Application Center (OMÜ TÜRKÇE) commemorated our martyrs with the "Memorial Program for Çanakkale Martyrs " prepared on behalf of the 103rd anniversary of Çanakkale Victory.

The memorial program organized in Atatürk Congress and Culture Center was held with the participation of Assoc. Prof. Yakup Poyraz, Former Director of OMU TURKCE, Instructor Dr. Ömer Saraç, Director of OMÜ TÜRKÇE, academicians and students.

"Çanakkale is the proof demonstrating that our lands will be guarded forever"

The opening speech of the program which started with the Qur'an recitation for our martyrs was given by Instructor Ömer Saraç, Director of OMU TURKCE. Saraç commemorated Çanakkale Martyrs with mercy and gratitude, and he remarked: "Çanakkale War is a struggle that resulted in a victory thanks to the national solidarity and belief in spite of all impossibilities. This victory is one of the most important triumphs we have gained by faith and patriotism for the continuation of our existence as a nation and against the enemies wishing to overtake our lands; it is also the first step of our war of independence. It is also the declaration that we will preserve and defend this land forever as a homeland. "

Following the performances, certificates of participation and achievement were given to students who prepared the memorial program. The program ended with the presentation of the teaching certificates to the candidates who were qualified to receive the document by completing the "5th Foreign Language Turkish Teaching" education program organized by OMÜ TÜRKÇE.
