“We reached 48 kidney transplantations in 9 months”

OMU Faculty of Medicine Tissue Typing Laboratory Responsible Prof. Dr. Belma Durupınar stated “The reason of our meeting is to bring together under the umbrella of TİGED physicists from different branches contributing to transplantation, share their knowledge and experiences and discuss our problems. OMU ranks first in kidney transplantation in 2017 in Turkey. As of October 2017 the number of kidney transplantation reached 48, 17 from living and 31 from cadaver donors. The number of kidney transplantations with especially cadaver donors has been so high due to the contributions of regional and all transplantation physicists, nurses and other allied health personnel who coordinated the operation. We would like to thank all our team friends, who gave us all kinds of support in all the phases of our work, and donor families and wish for a successful meeting”.
