OMU strengthens pre-university collaboration through partnership with Aziz Atik Science High School

Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) and Aziz Atik Science High School (AAFL), operating under the Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education, signed a one-year education cooperation protocol aimed at supporting students’ scientific, technological, and cultural development.

Within the scope of the protocol, several collaborative activities will be carried out, including educational cooperation under the Hezarfen 3 Project, certification programs with OMU Continuing Education Center (OMÜSEM), joint initiatives with the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering, start-up development, collaboration with the IEEE Student Community, and joint projects with the OMU International Relations Office.

The protocol aims to encourage high school students to participate in scientific production processes, familiarize them with the university environment, and help them grow into innovative and entrepreneurial individuals. It also seeks to increase participation in national and international scientific events and support students in becoming qualified human resources for the future.

The signing ceremony was attended by OMU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz, Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Begüm Korunur Engiz, Aziz Atik Science High School Principal Murat Boztepe, and Hezarfen Project Coordinator Sadullah Genç.

The protocol was signed by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Çetin Kurnaz and School Principal Murat Boztepe.

In his remarks during the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Kurnaz emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting the scientific and technological growth of young people:

“Such collaborations help reveal the potential of our youth and contribute to raising the scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs of the future.”

The ceremony concluded with a commemorative photo session.
