Joy of Graduation at the Faculty of Divinity

The 2015-2016 academic year graduates of Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) Faculty of Divinity and Faculty of Education Department of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge were seen off with the ceremony. International students stood out in the hall among graduates.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sevilhan Mennan, Faculty of Divinity Dean Prof. Dr. Yaşar Kurt, Faculty of Education Dean Prof. Dr. Yavuz Bayram, Faculty of Science and Letters Dean Prof. Dr. Recep Tapramaz, Yaşar Doğu Faculty of Sport Sciences Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ayyıldız, Faculty of Dentistry Dean Prof. Dr. Hikmet Aydemir, Faculty of Engineering Dean Prof. Dr. Fehmi Yazıcı, lecturers, students and their families attended the ceremony held at the OMU Yaşar Doğu Faculty of Sport Sciences Indoor Sports Hall.

Two hundred thirty three students graduated from the Faculty of Divinity and 514 students graduated from the Faculty of Education Department of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge at the end of the 2015-2016 academic year.  That some students attended the ceremony with their children did not go unnoticed.

Taking the floor at the ceremony, Faculty of Divinity Dean Prof. Dr. Yaşar Kurt stressed that they provide education coming into contact with various disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, history and literature and stated “I believe the students of our faculty will be an important factor to make our people embrace each other; carry them from past to future; uncover the civilization dynamics of this nation; and rear up this nation who is reborn from her ashes. In this sense, we expect our graduates to continue their efforts throughout their lives”.

Vice Rector Sevilhan Mennan stated that families made self-sacrifices in order to come to these days and firstly expressed her thanks to families. Sevilhan Mennan continued “Students attending this graduation ceremony, you are the indicators that time is passing by very fast. Your lecturers and families are as fond as you for witnessing this day. Enjoy your graduation and good luck for your future”.

After the speeches, Vice Rector Sevilhan Mennan presented the gifts to the graduates ranking first in the Faculty of Divinity and Faculty of Education Department of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge. Following that, the graduates ranking 1st, 2nd and 3rd received their gifts. The gift of Fazilet Ceylan, who graduated from the Department of Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge ranking 3rd, was presented to her by her father Hüseyin Ceylan.

The graduation ceremony continued with the issuance of certificates of achievement to students. At the end of the ceremony, the students enjoyed their graduation to the full and threw their caps into the air.
