David FAY, Education Attache of American Embassy (Ankara), made a speech in English on “Critical Media Literacy in the Digital Age” for the students from the Department of English Language Teaching in the Faculty of Education and English Prep. Class students from the School of Foreign Languages. In his speech, David Fay remarked that the digital literacy, tracing to the stone tablets, is used for the creation of critical awareness or healthy suspicion. He stated that future teachers should not give foreign language courses in the classrooms where the teacher is at the center of education as seen in the traditional teaching methods, but that they should teach foreign languages in the classrooms equipped with the visual sources that enable to get the correct answers of “why” questions.
